3D Laser Scanning

We use a NextEngine Laser scanner. This scanner user MultiStripe Laser Triangulatiom Technology  Here are the scanner’s specifications.

Twin arrys of four class 1M, 10mW solid state lasers and twin 3.0 Megapixel CMOS imagers

Scan data can be output as STL, OBJ,VRML, XYZ,USD,and PLY Files

No limit on object size as multiple scans can be stiched together

Two field of view settings 5.1″ X 3.8″ or 13.5″ X 10.1″

Resolution is 200 DPI  or 75 DPI with texture density of 400 DPI or 150 DPI

Dementional accuracy is +/- 0.005″ or +/-0.015″

Scanning speed is approximately 50,000 points per secound or about 2 min per scan
